Exactly. This isn't 1930 and smoot Haley where we were running a trade surplus. It is fantastical that China who runs a $500 billion trade surplus with us has the leverage, what do they have but cheap slave labor and the bird flu? Between running a surplus with Uncle Sam or wanting Uncle Sam to sell you arms and or get aid or have the local carrier fleet float to protect you from the local warlord, almost everybody has their hand in the til, and we are suppose to be the ones hiding under the table wetting ourselves.
