Near-north Ontario, French River | I think what he's asking is, given that he's been told the tumor wont cause pain, why perscribe the morphine in the first place??? Only thing I can think of is that while the tumor itself may not be causing pain directly there may be other issues, that are a side effect of the tumor that are causing pain or other problems. Op mentioned a loss of motor skills, that could cause tremors /spasms??? Maybe the morphine 'deadens' the nervous system so it minimizes the tremors etc,.... I have NO idea if that is accurate or not, just tossing it out as an idea as to why morphine might be given when no pain is present.
