Subject: RE: Planter speed.

NC Kansas
Stock case 1250 air bag down pressure. No fancy pp monitor just a pro 600. 100% no till into wheat stubble and grazed cover crops following wheat, some bean stubble. I run 5-5.5 depending on how hard the ground is. No trash wheels just good sharp blades. Could it be better? Yes but not a lot. I think most guys with erratic spacing and stand issues just won’t slow down. When I got into some really mellow smooth light wheat stubble I could go 6+ easy and maintain depth and singulation but at those speeds I think my seed trench quality is compromised. I don’t mind my spacing being Less than perfect but if that trench gets compromised then my emergence isn’t where I want it and that’s more important
