Fire ants don't hurt. Itch a little that's about it.
I gave up long ago trying to kill them unless it in my yard. There are products that are out there but you really need to target them atleast once a year or they are back just the same.
In my pecan orchard I sprayed lorsban alot one year. I didn't have an ant in my orchard for 2 years.
