It could have been but the first GMO crops I remember being planted on the farm was in 1996, I was just a kid then. Weed control sure seemed like magic for several years after that, now we are looking at weeds that just won't die to a lot of chemicals and have to have beans with triple stacked herbicide resistance to have a shot at controlling the weeds.
