Subject: RE: 25 Years of GM Crops

For sure, I’ve been in Ag my whole life. I had just graduated college when GMO was taking off in a big way. As a young Ag professional I sat through countless meetings put on by big companies about how we would be out of food by I think it was 2030 and these GMO’s were the only answer. I’m pretty sure all we have really done is shift all of our dollars from a more local economy to large corporations. After all, every business is trying to get the most of your money that they can.

Yea we use less of some pesticides that aren’t the best for the environment, but seems like every new Trait is easily defeated by nature or some unintended pest not covered by the trait warrants the use of insecticide. Not to mention that once a pest defeats GMOs they seem to be super pests that defeat the next with ease.

If you really sit back and think about it, it’s pretty obvious something is wrong. I’m not sure what it is or what the solution would be though.
