For what it’s worth I had no till corn too dressed with 435# of urea treated with agrotain and then did NOT get a timely rain. I for sure feel getting that N in the soil is a benefit vs what I did.

Been there and it hurts just saying out loud. Lol

I always say if you don't want rain, let me put down grass seed and spread urea on corn or...ANYTHING...it won't rain for months! Hahahaha



I don’t think nitrogen was the only problem there (common rust,southern rust, planting conditions, planting date,) A lot of failures on my part but I do think injecting nitrogen from now on will be my best practice. I don’t want to have any doubts. I think a UAN applicator with an anhydrous type coulter/ shank combo would be best? Haven’t tried that out yet though.
