NS Canada | 280 traps here, 8 week season in this area. Small size limit and no egg bearing females and no fishing on sundays. South shore fishes most of the winter though, all depends on water temps and migrations. Each area votes on the rules they want to follow, eastern shore only takes markets, no canners.
Usually if a guy catches a real huge one they take a picture for the news paper and put it back. This area has been on the uptick the last number of years - I would guess 2k lb days will be half common in the days to come.
