East of Broken Bow | Looks fine to me. Ideally, his shoulder to back transition could be straightened up a bit, but honestly, if he has growthy calves, that are born on their own, that is the main thing.
And the price was right.
Too often, people look too hard at 'looks' and not enough on performance history.
I've seen plenty of bee-yoo-tee-ful cows have puny little peanut calves, and only wean 2 every 3 years.
I've also seen ugly, sway backed bags of bones, wean a calf over half her body weight, year after year, and do it on not a lot of feed. Guess which one I'd be saving heifers from? | |
