I've always wondered about having an eBay rummage sale. People in the church or organization donate somewhat "significant" items that would be sold through the church's account on eBay.

Of course, you would need an eBay guru or maybe an eBay store to work through.

What is "significant"? That's kind of subjective. But it would have to be something with a reasonable opportunity of making over $50.

You'd have to have a screening process and/or committee, plus a crew to handle packing a shipping.

What you've got to avoid is turning the project into a dumping ground for stuff that's worn out or doesn't work. I'd be very careful about apparel, although some things like that do okay. High-end hiking or work boots at one time were bringing 33% of new prices. A friend buys designer shoes eBay that other people have owned and worn.

Our own church had a drawdown with a big party tied to it. Made plenty of money, but it was a mammoth amount of work.
