NE KS | Me and dad both have flat slabs under our shops (no footing). I have insulation and a vapor barrier and he has nothing. His floor is always noticeably colder than mine but his floor is only about 4"-5" and mine is 7" so that could have an affect as well.
With the price of concrete if its in good shape would just go with it. If its not to your liking you can always dig a footer around the perimeter of the building and insulate down 3 or 4ft or rip the floor out at a later time. My floor is always colder towards the outside so someday if I get bored I'd like to do this. Maybe just dig a slot with mini hoe and slide some foam board in. | |
