Slavery, World War II, human rights; they are all gone now because people got a taste of how bad they really were and grew up about it.
The nastiest episode in recent history will leave a scar on society, that will make us all stronger when it heals. It's just the way of the world.
Every time a despot falls, the world gains a measure of humanity.
