While it is definitely colder than normal these temps aren’t that unusual in the panhandle and I think we are better set up to handle it. I think this is the first time I have seen negative temperatures but we usually get a day or two of single digits so it isn’t that different. Many of the other places in the state never see this kind of weather. I remember when I was in college in Lubbock a friend from south Texas saw snow for the first time in his life.

The panhandle definitely isn’t set up like the people up north when it comes to freezing but we are in way better shape than many of the places impacted now.
