...Yanno, I think the simplest way to get more pods...is do as Cullers does and irrigate every day to keep the temperature inside the canopy down. That way your flowers aren't blasting and you keep more potential for pods on your plant. He has incredible soil from building it with chicken manure...and there's no way the rest of the country can approximate that. You can however find small things like sulphur that will help answer the question of "why aren't my beans yielding more"....
Have center pivoits WISH it was easy as irrigating every day
SOME times NON irrigated yields more than 5" applied on a some what non dry year
AND if some one wants to beat me up and say I'm doing it (Irrigation) wrong ---go for it
