When you compared 30 vs 60", did you plant CCs between your 60" rows? If yes, which CCs did you plant and how well did the they grow?

regarding growing alfalfa in between 60" rows of corn, can you describe in more detail what you have in mind? for example, when are you planning to plant the alfalfa?

covers were spread in both at same time. covers did a lot better in the 60 the first year, the second year was dry enough that fox tail really came in strong. nitrogen placement was a little more accurate in the 30 inch vs 60 inch.

alfalfa will be herbicide stripped and then corn planted after first cutting of alfalfa. hoping some alfalfa comes back with little to no herbicide on a few inches wide path. , covers will also be broadcast in and cattle will graze behind.

that field will also have a 15 inch trial. if 60 inch is lowering yields then we have to try 15 inch to see what happens. since cattle are behind all of it the corn that gets the best yield is the cash flow winner in this instance. also the 60 inch will be twin row instead of single row.
