you'll get more than an inch of frost in the ground. Remember dirt doesn't freeze, it's the water that freezes and takes the most cold to freeze, dry soil = faster frost, right? or will your soil be so loose and dry that it insulates better than a wet clay? A week of zero isn't going to go two feet deep with a few inches of snow cover though, at least it wouldn't around here after the winter so far and the soil moisture around here.
