I use a tractor harness from a 50-60 series tractor that we bought years ago for spreading fertilizer. It has 3 wires - 2 hot. One goes to a switched power source, whether it be keyed or a simple toggle switch and the other goes straight to the battery. When you shut the key off or flip the switch it shuts down properly. What are you using for a harness?
