Cedar Rapids, Iowa | Raspberry Pi Zero W
I have one that I don't need, so I'm going to give it away to someone on NAT. Reply to this thread by midnight Saturday and I'll randomly pick one of you on Sunday to mail it to.
Requirements:
1) You must have a user account here before this post was created. No new users just for the giveaway.
2) Only people with US addresses.
3) Within the next year, you have to post a picture & details of what you're doing with it.
What is it? A small single board computer. Let's be honest here, if your first thought is "what is it?", this isn't a project for you.
Backstory: Purchased this a couple weeks ago to run OctoPrint on my 3d printer. I soldered 5 pins to it, loaded OctoPrint on a micro SD card, and installed it in the printer. It worked, but it's just too slow for this application. Boot time was over 6 minutes. After 2 hours of testing, I removed it and put a Raspberry Pi 3B+ on it. That has a boot time of about 1 minute. The Zero W is only $10 plus shipping, so I'm not out much. I figure someone else might have a light-duty application that this would be a good fit for.
