I haven’t messed with any of the esp32 boards yet. I have a few particle photons, argons, electron, and a boron.
Been using Blynk app with photon on WiFi to remote monitor my house and my grandmas house with them. Makes it easy to push data to them and also send data to the hardware to enable relays or just about anything.
