More common than you think. Happens when there is big run up in price in a short time. If you normally depositing $10000.00 then start depositing $50000.00 it looks funny to the bank.
I would deposit my checks thru the loan department and make payment on a loan at the same time.
The was never a hold then, but thru a regular teller there might be a two day wait.
