It's truly amazing what a great family business Big R had built and the reputation they had gained for being fairly "small" in the world of chain stores. But, they held their own locally with high quality merchandise and great employees. Our local store was in Watseka IL. Started out as a smaller store, expanded, then moved across town into a really modern expanded building & really shined. Then sold & crashed.

It's almost as truly amazing how fast Stock & Field lost the whole thing. You would have thought it would've lasted longer than that on cruise control. Hopefully it wasn't planned destruction.
