I just checked. Looks like you're right on OpenOffice. Tools, Options, Load/Save on the left side, then in the "Alway Save As" drop down box select Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP" or whatever floats your boat. I'm assuming that works anyways, I didn't read any directions, I just poked around a bit. I'd never seen that before. Thanks for the tip.
