We just went thru this also. Clothes dryer quit working, wife and I were in the mood to save a buck so we bought a used one off swap and sell. Bad decision - it did not work correctly so we had to buy a new one then. Have been in the house 20 years and can not decide if this is our 3rd or 4th clothes dryer. Seems to us that expensive appliances do not last any longer than the cheap ones.

Next day the clothes washer quit working but was able to diagnose and repair with the help of Youtube University.

Wife was kind of upset... but tried to tell her its life, just deal with it and roll on.

Reminds me of a song by Chris Knight called "Little Victories".
