galvanized is the way to go ... powder is actually thicker and more ridgid,, easier to chip around bolts and through flexing ... galvanizing is a molten metal put on very hot, and is much more resistant to normal abrasion ...
where it isn't as good is heavy salt exposure, but better than bare metal after chipping ..
