Cobb, a few questions. Do you contract feed with an integrator? I’ve thought about adding something besides cattle to our operation. Do people that own there own chickens have trouble finding a processor and also a chick supplier?
What is the avg size of barn these days. How many broilers does it hold? Do you know what the cost of a new building is ?

Yeah its a contract with Simmons Foods they own the chicks bring me the feed and pick them back up for processing pretty simple ,pay on a sliding scale with performance usually do pretty good but every once in awhile get a bad batch, the new houses for Simmons are 66 x 600 54000 hd cap at 4.5 lb bird finnish wt. 450-500,000 $ per house, i think Tyson likes the 55 x 600' houses my are 43× 500'. Depends on your location if you can get a contract, heard Tyson is wanting 500 new houses somewhere in Tennessee |
