Madison Co. Virginia
This is a laptop, so there's only room for a single drive. I thought that a partitioned drive was functionally identical to two drives. Is this not the case?

At the moment, I'm looking into buying a 500gb ssd, and putting the original 128gb ssd on the shelf with its intact copy of Windows 10. I'd split the 500gb drive into two partitions, 100gb, and 400gb, and reinstall Windows on the small partition. It looks like I can download a copy of Windows directly from Microsoft, and they can license it to my computer without hassle, since this computer was presumably already licensed for Windows 10.

Is this doable, or should I be pursuing something else?
