Southern Pa. | Was this tractor just overhauled, and you haven't really used it yet??
If so, use JD break in oil for the first 100 hours. Some of these modern engines oils are so good at preventing wear, they will hardly allow an engine to break in properly. That is especially true if you don't have a job to do that will load the engine good. Examples of that would be a yard, chore or haying tractor. Definitely avoid low rpm idling for extended periods.
Your tractor needs to have a 10 tooth chisel plow, or 14 ft disc, etc. hooked to it for a couple days!!
Depending on your location, that can be difficult to do this time of year.
