Faunsdale, AL | Catfish are still a big part of the local ag economy. The industry has matured so there’s fewer but larger operations now than 20 years ago. Two dedicated feedmills operating in the area, so the industry is pretty substantial.
Wow! F5 tornado! Need to be below ground or lucky to survive one of those.
Unfortunately not many basements in this area and almost without exception the tornados we get are wrapped in rain and come after dark, so you usually can’t see them coming. The NWS and some of the broadcast meteorologists do a good job trying to warn the public ahead of the storms. Lots of trailers and manufactured housing here, so even a F0 or F1 can really rip up stuff. | |
