Franklinton, LA
Every hurricane has its own unique personality. This one was definitely different. Most of the time hurricanes this late in the season lose strength when they reach the cooler water in the northern Gulf of Mexico. This one was moving so fast it didn't lose any strength. Once it hit land it started moving faster and the wind velocity didn't decrease that quickly.

I am glad you didn't get hit. It went about 40 miles east of Franklinton so all we had was about 4" of rain. We have dodged 4 hurricanes in the last 2 months.

This could be a long and cold winter. This is still October and I am wearing long sleeve shirts when i go outside. Yesterday I wore a light coat. I can't remember the last time I did this in October.
