east central iowa
I thought the elevators like to make $ on basis appreciation. So try to get as much possible owned in their storage. Lots of time basis is wide at harvest then the next summer it is less wide. So what if that is still true only the difference is the starting point. The more narrow basis also somewhat implies a shorter
Crop or it is more narrow to keep grain moving by enticing us producers to bite on it. So one thought is this good basis bought alot of grain. Now later on the market will still need to buy grain do it quite possibly could get better. Basis job is to get grain to move. Now what could happen is market dries up and exports tank because of election or tariffs or good weather or over plantings or poor info by people in charge trying to fix something.
Ar that point the alleged 90% who sold off the field would look like genisus. Sorry so long just thinking out loud is all. Stay safe
