Yes you need to read the fine print when dealing with them.
Some years ago we got new phone to replace one that tried drinking water and deal was we would keep old plan BUT when we got home and read contract through old plan ended 1 year later and we would be moved to a new and more expensive plan.
Returned the phone and went elsewhere.
