Central ND
I'm not much of a gun guy either but I shoot a little here and there.
.... A simple Model 870 Remington Express or Wingmaster with 3 inch chamber for 3 inch shells in case you wont to go a little bigger than the 2 3/4 shells is what I would say would do what you want and NOT break the bank. There have been thousands and thousands of them built for years and years so parts are readily available , simple design, changeable choke tubes in the barrel end, easy to take apart and put back together.lots of versions of the same gun were made and for the most part most of the parts interchange. The more you use them the better they work. Most anyone that shoots recognises an 870 Remington by name and its design wo they have been quite popular over their time..
