Subject: RE: Widow maker truck wheels

1 hour east of ol cheyenne
That is a widow maker wheel. If it wet a "lock ring" wheel the lock would be on the side pictured. That wheel splits down the center.

School buses and fire trucks used 22.5 in that 10 bolt GM pattern. There were several 10 bolt GM sizes or patterns I have been told three and know of two sizes for sure. I think the cutoff might have been pre 1955 and 1955 and newer. If there is a 3rd size it may be previous to 1947 on light duty 1 1/4 ton wheels but dont quote me on this. I used to operate a small salvage yard and junk out trucks and sold many split ring wheels outer lock ring and 22.5 wheels. Quit 20 years ago due to bad back.
Be sure you get the correct replacement ones (bolt size and pattern ) before mounting tires up.
