| I put some heavy hurricane anchors on. They were about 3/16” if not 1/4” thick “L” shaped brackets that fastened onto the side of the post and truss. Each leg was likely over 2’ long. Actually they weren’t really “L” shaped as they had the same slope and attached to the top chord of the truss. Their primary purpose is to keep the truss attached firmly to the post in severe weather but they would act somewhat like a knee brace as well I would think. Without the intrusion into the building envelope. | |
