My parents were 50 year members of ioof. The local lodge closed here a few years ago as the membership dwindled. The lodge did a Lot of good before government took over benefits to orphans and widows. Their main mission kind of disappeared.

The local lodge is one of the most active of those left in IL and we give several scholarships to high school and college students and most of our fundraising is gear toward raising money for the local food pantry, a group that provides gifts to underprivileged children at Christmas and couple other local groups that help people in the community. It’s has been a privilege to know and work with these people.
