Subject: RE: Paypal

Texas Panhandle I have always trusted Paypal till now...

A couple months ago I sold an item and linked my bank account to transfer the money from Paypal. I did not authorize and other charges to my bank account but have several credit cards on Paypal to use as needed. I use Paypal alot as it is an easy way to pay.

Last week I noticed an email from Paypal that I was charged for a shipping label from Ebay Inc Shipping. There is no charge in my Ebay account.

I would not worry yourself over this, your account has not been hacked. When you buy a label using ebay shipping, the cost is billed to the user's Paypal account. If this was an extra charge over and above the amount originally paid then most likely it is a carrier adjustment. It is human nature to sometimes, quite innocently, under declare a shipment's weight or dimensions when purchasing shipping labels, when such a shipment reaches the carrier sorting facility the short payment is discovered by their system. Once discovered, the carrier now has the ability to retroactively bill the label's funding source ... this frequently happens to ebay sellers, especially new or infrequent users.

In short, the carrier you used to ship your ebay sale has either billed for the original purchase or an adjustment amount via PayPal. The carriers must now write language into their contracts wiith ebay and Paypal to allow them to police their labels like this ... surprises a lot of people.
