Texas Panhandle | dko, I don't know off hand of another company that does what paypal does. They have a very useful service, but when problem arise they have you by the nuts and there is not a thing you can do about it. Think about it, they have your bank account, and you agree to their terms and conditions, so when there is a problem all they do is say "you're wrong". What are you going to do about it when the amount is too small to hire a lawyer? There is honestly almost zero communication and that is everyone's frustration I think.
If you link a bank account make sure
1. It is not setup for purchases. (they can still pull from it if they want)
2. Use it only to send money to the bank account.
3. Keep a dedicated separate bank account for this purpose only and keep it cleaned out. May be hard to find a bank that won't charge for low balance accounts.
My opinion so far
