Nothing against your wife's medical expertise but a good friend of mine just had a similar experience. He horsed around for a couple of days with meds and laying on the floor and chiropractor and finally went to the sports medicine place and found himself on the operating table a few hours later. Had a ruptured a disc, it was pressing on a nerve and they said he was a few hours away from being paralyzed. Back pain is not something to be messed with. If you have any numbness in your extremities at all any tingling of fingers or toes anything less than full strength in your appendages get to an expert ASAP.
