Donnellson, IA. Makes saying here easier.
I would like to see this done on long term strip till with controlled traffic scenario. Not a very wide strip gets disturbed and the rest is not tilled at all. Which is very similar to a notill system as I've yet to see a notiller here that broadcasts all crops and doesn't have some mechanical penetration of the soil. Been on fields that the lines haven't moved more than a 4" nudge back and forth for 11 years. The yields were also increased over the notill yields from before so more residue to feed the soil. I wouldn't work an acre one ahead of beans though unless fertilizer is being placed in a band. It shines in soybeans too.
