Central Kansas | First time for posting on this section of New AgTalk. My computer is 5 or 6 years old and the wife says we need to update. It is getting to a point where it running very slow and takes a month of Sundays to veiw anything. Tell me what is a good brand, what features I need and other things that go with buying a new computer. I DO NOT use a computer for tracking farm expenses, farm yields, fuel usage, etc. I mainly use one to follow farm forums(like Ag Talk), look for used machinery, farm sale listings and recieve and send out E-mails, etc.
I'll be honest with you, I don't know $hit about what I need. This computer was "built" from a salesmans suggestions and alot of what is in it, I don't use. If I went to a computer store to talk about a new one and I was living in Alaska and it was 90 below, the saleman could probably sell me an ice cream cone!...LOL
Give me some ideas what I need. Currently running a GateWay with Windows XP on country dial-up. Thanks
