My wife and I did a short back country camping trip, 3 days and 2 nights, in the Boundary Waters about 6 weeks ago and loved it. We try to stay very active and this was a wonderful addition. I've also camped out of a sea kayak in the Everglades' barrier islands. Let's just say that tides are lousy to deal with.
