Western Iowa | Not sure I agree that growing slower is OK
My cousin a few years ago dove into 'pasture' hogs. It took him a bit to find his stride, but his rate of gain will hang or surpass any other hog guy out there. Confinement or other. I would put good money on that!
Granted, it is small scale, and I would bet his cost of gain isn't as good as some others, but he is getting a premium price, so it works for him. | |
