You can't really do a preventative for worms, but you can give them a dose of something like SafeGuard at some point while they're growing to clean them up. It's not going to hurt to give it to them if they don't have worms but usually by the time you see worms there's already some damage done. You started them off way too low on protein. Find a feed rep or university type person to set you up on some rations. But the most obvious thing to me would be...do they have water available all the time or are you using buckets? If they're limited on water, especially in the heat, they aren't going to grow. If you got 40 pound pigs in March and were counting on butchering them in November or December... if they grew normal those would be some pretty big hogs.
