North Central Iowa | With head raised up off the ground, look at the indicator on right side. It should be where my finger is pointing. You should be able to push it down to bottom position( like it is in photo) and it should spring back to top position freely. Sounds like it may be stuck and it is telling combine to raise head.
In pic mine is sitting on trailer, so cutter bar is pushed way up.
Read my other replies and pics in this thread. But your head could be somewhat different, but the sensing rod needs to move freely. Cutter bar with snoots on needs to be able to fall to lowest position on its own also
