Jesup, IA | Too much time is lost on my farm filling newer things with Diesel Exhaust Fluid. I want to put something right by the fuel tank so everything is done at one stop. I believe DEF is not to be stored in direct sunlight, and, it freezes at 12 degrees or so. Several smaller shuttles have thick insulation and even heaters, but most are smaller in size and would require frequent refilling. We buy DEF in 265 gallon wire cage tanks and something that could just utilize the entire tank or hold the entire tank would be a great solution.
Any good products or ideas? Presently we primarily just put a caddy pump on a cage tank and leave it in the shop. We drive trucks and tractors to it, or refill our Thunder Creek fuel trailer which has a DEF tank when fueling in the field. Also have a little 35 gal 12 volt jump tank. But again looking for some sort of sizable, sunlight proof, insulated, heated system to sit by the fuel tank.
Once saw something on the internet called a “DEF Oven.” Kind of like a little heated garden shed to put a 265 shuttle and pump in. But can’t find it again.
