JD 2840 with a 148 loader was the first "big" purchase in 1978. Also the year I got married. I could not afford the down payment in the spring so leased the tractor until after harvest that year when the lease was converted to a purchase. Still have that tractor and have told the "boys" I prefer it not be sold. Too many memories of a great time in my life.
