I’m sure you have already done this but if not, I’d blow off all chaff and spray WD40 on all moving knotted parts, if there is some rust making the twine hang on, or parts sticking and jerking through tying prosessing that should eliminate that equation. Then as others have said read the owners manual and get the perfect looking knots.

I have a 273 new holland that has the same problem, and yes for some reason the right side is more prone to it like on mine. I've never had any problems with my knotter that wasn't cured by cleaning the crap out of it with an airhose and a big dose of wd 40 on everything. My similar problem i had when i took it out of the shed this spring and ran some hay through it was just like this, there's a little round cam looking thing that rotates around behind the bill hooks, with the baler empty you'll need to rotate the flywheel until it makes a rotation where these pieces are accessible otherwise they're almost impossible to see. Spray that really good with WD as it plays a role in pushing knots off the bill hook and mine was seized up a bit this spring. Fixed it right up
