Subject: RE: pumpkins

Croswell, Michigan
Very good info.

We have grown 2-3 acres for the last 15 years or so.
I use Dual/Reflex pre. I find it also pays to cultivate even if it doesn’t look like it needs it. The best plan I have found, although I don’t always seem to get it done, is to work my pumpkin ground for the last time about two weeks prior to planting. Then add roundup to the Dual/reflex mix. This seems to kill the first flush of weeds without bringing more weed seed to the surface. I had a BASF rep tell me once Basagran and Raptor will work post(but it’s off label). It works but will ding the pumpkin plants.

I will not plant anything that is not powdery mildew resistant.
