Our good well is 150. We have some 80 footers along the River but they are horrible quality water. Not uncommon to find 600-700 ft Wells. Alot of houses on the country side here haul drinking water from town and use cisterned/filtered rain water for showers and clothes. There’s reasons why nobody lives here.


Different question.

Most wells here are also at 150 to 250 ft in depth.
Water table when its high is at 6' from surface.
Low is 9' down.

That means that if you can get alfalfa established you should get decent yield.
Winter kill is a big issue though.
