| iF fats get below the COG (80 cents for the sake of discussion). Cattle feeders will strive to make them smaller , not bigger. Feeders would then get as cheap as fats or cheaper so there would be no point in making feeders bigger. Unweaned bawling calves would be a large discount to fats because there would be no motive to buy one otherwise. 60 cent 5 wt bawling calves would provide no reason to keep an undesirable cow so they could all get dead. I’m not predicting it or hoping for it but I wouldn’t rule it out either. Been a long time since there was a great awakening in the cattle sector. | |
